Report of Industrial Visit to Aaditya Protein Pvt. Ltd., Umred
The Department of Commerce organized a one-day industrial visit to Aaditya Protein
Pvt. Ltd. in Umred on March 18th, 2024. Approximately 70 final-year B.Com students
witnessed the operation of soybean oil manufacturing at Aaditya Protein Pvt. Ltd.
The industrial tour provided students with an insightful experience into the various
stages of soybean processing, ranging from raw material intake to the production of
end-products. Its aim was to familiarize students with the operations of a soybean plant
and underscore the significance of soybean processing in the food and agriculture
industry. The main products of the company include soybean oil and de-oiled cake
(DOC). The Industrial Visit was organized to offer students a hands-on experience of
the industrial world. Students observed the entire solvent extraction process, from the
loading of soybeans to the conversion into crude and refined oil.
CA Nikit Bhalotia, the Chief Manager of the company, guided the students and
explained the entire process of raw material handling, crushing, extraction, refining,
processing, and packaging in simple terms.
Furthermore, students gained insight into various activities, including the deionization
and recycling process of water. They were keen to learn about the plant's establishment
year, project cost production, raw material availability, and product marketing.
Throughout the visit, students adhered to all safety measures and instructions provided
by the company.
The Head of the Commerce Department, Prof. Moreshwar Shende, along with Dr.
Gajanan Babade, Dr. Rupesh Khubalkar, Prof. Vaibhav Zanjad, Prof. Sikandar Pawar,
and students, participated in the Industrial Visit. More than 70 students benefited from
this experience, with special support from the college's Principal, Dr. Archana
Chaudhary, and Vice Principal, Dr. Sushil Kunjalwar.
Overall, the tour was both educational and informative, contributing to a deeper
understanding of soybean processing and its importance in the food and agriculture
sector.
